No kids, dogs or senior citizens–Really!
There is a way to get attention in the news and in nonprofit giving. You need kids, dogs or senior citizens.
A dog it hit by a car. Local nonprofit puts out the word and, within minutes, the vet bill is paid. Kids need food in the summer. . . done. These are very wonderful things and a reflection of care and compassion within a community. But what happens when a nonprofit doesn’t have kids, dogs or senior citizens on the face of it?
If you look at our mission: ICTV connects, informs and empowers the Itasca community through diverse media. No dogs or kids. So-- giving to ICTV becomes harder for folks. But are there really no kids, dogs or senior citizens? Yes, there are. They are within the words of the mission.
We use the medium of video to connect you to the other nonprofit missions of the area. We’ve cleaned up after a nervous critter or two when helping Great Tails Animal Rescue share their needs. We have honored kids in the schools and even doubled down on that by honoring our veterans in the Middle School. ICTV is filled with the faith of our community through the sharing of inspirational programs on Tuesday and Sunday.
Much of what you might see is the recaps of government meetings. Each of those meetings has a direct impact on the lives of the citizens of the county. Is the water safe to drink? What roads are closed on the way to daycare? How will my taxes increase?
So, when you see an ICTV recorded meeting or a Community Matters segment consider supporting ICTV. The kids, dogs and senior citizens rely on an informed community. Help us keep it that way.
