Grand Rapids Memorial Day Ceremonies

Grand Rapids military honors will be conducted as follows on Monday, May 29:
9 a.m., Old Soldiers Lane Cemetery – wreath laying
9:30 a.m., Wildwood Cemetery – wreath laying
10:15 a.m., Harris Township Cemetery – wreath laying
11:15 a.m., Robert Horn Bridge – wreath committal
11:45 a.m., Itasca County Courthouse – Veterans memorial, wreath laying
1 p.m., Brookstone – wreath laying
1:30 p.m., The Emeralds – wreath laying
2 p.m., Grand Village (Itasca Nursing Home) – wreath laying
The official Memorial Day address will take place at 11:15 a.m. at the Itasca Calvary Cemetery. Speaker is John Johnson, Commissioner District 3, Army Veteran.
The decoration of graves (flags and holders) will take place on Friday, May 26, at 3 p.m., and the pick-up will be on Tuesday, May 30 at 3 p.m. (weather permitting, flags cannot be put away wet).
