The newly upgraded campground at the Itasca County Fairgrounds will open on May 23rd, but you can start making your reservations now. The campground is approximately seven acres in size and offers 57 campsites. There are different types of campsites available, ranging from full hookup to rustic with limited amenities. The campground also features a wash house with full shower and laundry services, as well as a dump station. Below are the campground fees:
- Full Hookup (Water, Electric, and Sewer) – $50.00/night
- Water and Electric Sites – $40.00/night
- Electric Only – $30.00/night
- Rustic Sites – $20.00/night
I am excited that the Itasca County Board of Commissioners decided to upgrade the campground facility. Upon exploring the campground, I noticed that the sites towards the back with fewer amenities are stunning, giving the impression of camping in the heart of a forest. However, during racing events, the noise from the Itasca County Raceway may be an issue for campers, as I can hear the races from my house. Only time will tell if this will be a problem.
