Blackberry Farm Show this weekend

The 33rd annual Blackberry Farm and Antique show will be this weekend August 12 & 13 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm both days.  This year’s theme is tillage demonstrations featuring fieldwork done with horses and antique tractors.  Also included is a flea market.  Lots of food will be available on site.  Our summer intern will be out and about videotaping some of the many displays and demonstrations happening.  If you get the chance to be out and about this weekend the show grounds are located 7 miles east of Grand Rapids on Highway 2 in Blackberry.

Tall Timber Days Parade

This weekend the annual Tall Timber Days festivities will take place in downtown Grand Rapids.  Our ICTV staff and summer intern will be videotaping the Tall Timber Days Parade on Sunday at 1:00 pm.  Creative floats, great music and so much to see for kids and adults will be featured.  The parade route starts at the Fairgrounds to NE 3rd Avenue to NE 5th street and turning to go down NW 2nd Avenue.  Once again ICTV volunteers Mary Jo Jess and Gene Baker will be our hosts for the parade.

Ready, Set, Go!

With Truth-In-Taxation public hearings to holiday programs, December is an especially busy month for ICTV staff. Along with the normal government meetings there’s always a flurry of extra programs dedicated to celebrating the holidays.  Staff has already covered the Grand Rapids Area Male Chorus performance on Sunday and this Saturday staff will be videotaping the Reif Dance performance of the Nutcracker. Throw in some school programs and we’ve got a lot to cover before Christmas rolls around.  Stay tuned throughout the month to help boost your holiday spirit!
