Breast Cancer

The latest presentation in Grand Itasca’s “Doc Talk” series took place on Tuesday, October 17 at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The presenter was Dr. Lisa Owens, and she discussed breast cancer. During her presentation she covered: methods for diagnosing, strategies for treatment, and ways of decreasing the risk of getting breast cancer. ICTV staff was in the audience to record this presentation. You can see it on ICTV’s Public Access Channel on Thursday, October 26 at 7:00pm. Saturday afternoons at 3:00pm on the Public Access Channel, ICTV plays programs out of the archives. Coming up on Saturday, October 14, we will be replaying the Grand Rapids Area Library program, “Scams, Fraud, and Identity Theft.” This will be followed by the Just Outdoors episode, “How to Trap Fisher and Pine Marten in a Box.” The following week, October 21, will feature two Grand Rapids Area Library programs: “Thirty Years and a Novel,” followed by, “The Facts Behind Writing Crime Fiction.” Keep an eye on ICTV’s schedule to see what’s coming out of the archive next.

Grand Rapids Community Bike Share

Grand Rapids has recently become home to a new community bike share program. This free of charge program lets people borrow bikes from four local locations: Grand Rapids City Hall, Grand Rapids Area Library, Itasca County Family YMCA, and Itasca Resource Center (IRC). ICTV has produced a program to help community members understand what they need to do to borrow one of these bikes. You can see this program on ICTV’s Government Access Channel on: Wednesday, October 11 at 4:30pm; and Saturday, October 14 at 6:00pm.
