Each Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm, ICTV pulls programs out of the archive of past productions and plays them on the Public Access Channel. Coming up on Saturday, August 26, we will be replaying the Just Outdoors episode, “World Class Knife Crafter.” This will be followed by the Grand Rapids Area Library Program, “Zen and the Art of Ultra Distance Running.” The following week, September 2, will feature two Grand Rapids Area Library Programs: “Food Sensitivities and Allergies,” and “The Three Minute Outdoorsman.” Keep an eye on ICTV’s schedule to see what’s coming out of the archive next.

Food is Medicine

The latest presentation in Grand Itasca’s “Doc Talk” series took place on Tuesday, August 15 at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The presenter was Dr. Philip Imholte, who talked about how eating healthy food can help you reduce or avoid medications. During his presentation he reviewed research showing how better food choices can improve your health, and gave some practical advice on how you can implement this knowledge into your daily life. You can watch his presentation on ICTV’s Public Access Channel beginning on Thursday, August 24 at 7:00pm.

Heart Failure

The latest presentation in Grand Itasca’s “Doc Talk” series took place on Tuesday, July 18 at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The presenter was Kristina Conner, CNP. She gave a presentation on heart failure. During her presentation she talked about: heart anatomy, the definition as well as types of heart failure, some of it’s causes, what treatments are available, as well as some preventive measures one can take to avoid heart failure.
