Grand Rapids Community Bike Share

Grand Rapids has recently become home to a new community bike share program. This free of charge program lets people borrow bikes from four local locations: Grand Rapids City Hall, Grand Rapids Area Library, Itasca County Family YMCA, and Itasca Resource Center (IRC). ICTV has produced a program to help community members understand what they need to do to borrow one of these bikes. You can see this program on ICTV’s Government Access Channel on: Wednesday, October 11 at 4:30pm; and Saturday, October 14 at 6:00pm. Keep an eye on ICTV’s schedule for other future air dates and times.

From the ICTV Archives

Saturday afternoons at 3:00pm on the Public Access Channel, ICTV plays programs out of the archives. Coming up on Saturday, September 30, we will be replaying two episodes of Hobbies Inc.: “Tea Time,” and “Doll Collecting.” The following week, October 7, will feature the Grand Rapids Area Library Program: “Music of the Immigrants,” followed by the Itasca Community Chorus' “Concert Favorites.” Keep an eye on ICTV’s schedule to see what’s coming out of the archive next.

Chronic Disease and Depression

The latest presentation in Grand Itasca’s “Doc Talk” series took place on Tuesday, September 19 at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The presenter was Dr. Patty Carlin-Janssen. She gave a presentation on the link between chronic disease and depression. During her presentation she talked about: the prevalence of depression associated with other chronic diseases, the question of which comes first, the screening process for depression in the primary care setting, and the Gratitude Graffiti Project. ICTV staff was in the audience to record this presentation.
