Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock

The Ruffed Grouse Society held its 36th annual National Grouse and Woodcock Hunt this week in and around Grand Rapids. ICTV staff and the host of Just Outdoors, Tom Chapin, was there to see what was going on and to talk with some of the participants and officials for our upcoming show. The conversations were focused on grouse and woodcock, the Ruffed Grouse Society and the hunt - we were even able to get a look into how the birds are weighed and measured.

Grand Rapids Community Bike Share

Grand Rapids has recently become home to a new community bike share program. This free of charge program lets people borrow bikes from four local locations: Grand Rapids City Hall, Grand Rapids Area Library, Itasca County Family YMCA, and Itasca Resource Center (IRC). ICTV has produced a program to help community members understand what they need to do to borrow one of these bikes. You can see this program on ICTV’s Government Access Channel on: Wednesday, October 11 at 4:30pm; and Saturday, October 14 at 6:00pm. Keep an eye on ICTV’s schedule for other future air dates and times.
